Shelfield Park runs later in new fixture list reappraisal

Shelfield Park will race on a new date in 2021, yet still without spectators, following yet another publication of the fixture list for the resumption of Point-to-Point racing at the end of March. The brand new course is still to see a horse since it was brought to readiness for March 2020.

The Point-to-Point Authority have been quick to reassess the remaining 12 weeks of the season, resubmitting a national fixture list with 54 fixtures from Fife to Truro. The traditional heartlands of the sport in the Midlands and West Country, have retained a lion's share of their fixtures through the determination of race committees to satisfy the needs of qualifiers.

The Three Counties campaign will restart at Maisemore on March 30 before Shelfield on April 11, the day after the Grand National, a slot vacated by one of three Cotswold fixtures that have dropped away. The Worcestershire, Berkeley and Albrighton South still remain to complement the Spring programme.

A full national fixture list may be seen here.
